Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about home care, the registry, costs, and how it all works.

What's the difference between a registry and a traditional agency?

A registry maintains a network of independent caregivers. You hire directly and work with the person you've chosen. An agency employs caregivers and assigns them to clients. With us, you have choice and control. With an agency, you work with whoever they assign and pay higher rates because of agency overhead.

How are caregivers vetted?

Every caregiver in our registry completes a background check, provides professional references, and participates in a personal interview. We assess skills, reliability, and personality fit. This protects families and demonstrates each caregiver's credibility.

What if the caregiver I hire isn't a good fit?

Home care relationships can take time to adjust. If early issues arise, we help troubleshoot and communicate. If you determine someone truly isn't a good fit, you can part ways. You maintain control over who works in your home.

How much does home care cost?

Costs vary based on the type of care needed, hours required, and the caregiver's experience. Hourly rates typically range from $20-40 per hour. In addition to caregiver rates, there are registry fees and payroll processing fees. We provide transparent pricing with no hidden costs.

Can I use insurance to pay for home care?

Long-term care insurance policies often cover home care. Veterans may be eligible for VA benefits. Medicaid coverage varies by state. We can help you explore what coverage you might have.

What if I need coverage when my regular caregiver is sick or unavailable?

We work with you to find backup coverage. We maintain relationships with caregivers who can provide emergency support and help arrange solutions so there's continuity of care.

How is payroll handled?

We manage all payroll processing, tax withholding, W-2 preparation, and employment compliance. You don't have to worry about the administrative details of being an employer.

What is the difference between personal care and nursing care?

Personal care includes assistance with daily living: bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility help, companionship. Nursing care includes medical support: medication management, wound care, health monitoring. Both are available through our registry.
